Michele Brock (Nominated by a Colleague)
Physician Liaison, UK HealthCare
Lexington, Kentucky

Michele Brock is an accomplished leader with over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry.  She has been with the with the Physician Liaison Program at UK Healthcare in Lexington, KY for over 8 years and currently serves as the service line leader for Kentucky Children’s Hospital. Michele is passionate about developing relationships with referring providers and analyzing data to help identify key relationships and opportunities for growth. Michele also serves as the training coordinator and content expert for EpicCare Link (ECL). She received a Silver Award for Innovation for ECL Implementation.

Michele is a mentor for AAPL new members, on the AAPL membership committee and was a former member of the AAPL webinar committee. She earned her Master of Science Degree from the University of Western Illinois and her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa.

Why Michele would make a good candidate: 

It is with great enthusiasm that I nominate Michele Brock, Physician Liaison at UK HealthCare, for the position of President-Elect of the American Association of Physician Liaisons (AAPL). Michele exemplifies the leadership, dedication, and expertise necessary to advance the mission of AAPL and strengthen its impact within the healthcare industry.

Michele has played a pivotal role in shaping physician outreach at UK HealthCare, demonstrating an exceptional ability to build and nurture relationships that enhance collaboration between healthcare providers. Her strategic vision and innovative approaches have been instrumental in fostering connections that improve healthcare delivery across the region. In addition to her contributions within UK HealthCare, Michele has been a driving force in establishing a statewide physician liaison alliance in Kentucky. This initiative has provided invaluable networking, education, and support for both new and experienced liaisons, significantly advancing physician relations and strengthening healthcare throughout the state.

As her manager, I fully support Michele’s candidacy for this leadership role and will ensure she has the necessary time and resources to invest in AAPL Board activities. I have no doubt that her passion, industry knowledge, and commitment to professional development will greatly benefit the organization.

Michele is not only a leader within her own institution but also a respected voice in the physician liaison community at large. She has actively contributed to AAPL initiatives, offering insights and mentorship that help others navigate the evolving landscape of physician relations. Her ability to foster strong partnerships, adapt to industry challenges, and advocate for physician liaisons at all levels makes her an outstanding candidate for President-Elect.

Donyel Edwards is an accomplished professional with 15 years of healthcare and provider relations experience at CaroMont Health.

 As Manager of Provider Relations, Donyel excels in fostering trust with network providers and ensuring continuity of care. Known for her expertise in communication, organization, and healthcare marketing, Donyel is dedicated to achieving exceptional results.

She holds a master’s degree in business management from WGU and enjoys outdoor activities, reading, and arts & crafts in her free time.

Why I would make a good candidate: 

I bring a strong track record of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure. My skills in setting clear priorities and maintaining accurate records ensure that essential documents, timelines, and responsibilities are handled efficiently. In addition to my operational strengths, I offer a collaborative leadership style and a strategic mindset, with experience in long-range planning and aligning projects with organizational goals. My clear, approachable communication style enables me to foster strong relationships with colleagues, members, and stakeholders, contributing to a cohesive and forward-thinking Board environment.

Jodi Davis (Self-Nominated)
Director of Referral Development
US Orthopaedic Partners

Alpharetta, Georgia

With over 20 years’ experience in marketing and referral development, Jodi Davis has gained extensive knowledge working in the healthcare industry for a variety of organizations. They range from large specialty practices in cardiovascular and orthopaedics to representing 17 pediatric service lines for Orlando’s Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. She currently serves as the Director of Referral Development for US Orthopaedic Partners that overseas 10 orthopaedic practices across 3 states. In addition to focusing on improving referral processes and growing new patient volumes, she enjoys mentoring and supporting the liaisons on her team. 

Why I would make a good candidate: 

In addition to my professional experience of over 20 years in referral marketing, I have been an advocate for the AAPL to other professionals entering the field of physician relations/liaisons ever since the AAPL began. I believe in the mission of the AAPL and the resources and networking opportunities it has brought to our profession. Therefore, it would be an honor to serve in this leadership position.


Jenny Hansbrough
Physician Liaison
Sentara RMH Medical Center
Harrisonburg, Virginia

Jenny is a goal oriented leader with over 25 years of health care experience. Her strong networking abilities, competitive drive, risk taking spirit and influencing disposition have contributed to her success of building trusting relationships and long lasting partnerships within the health care space. 

She earns respect by being transparent, and builds creditability by collaborating with decision makers to brainstorm new ideas, identify barriers and find solutions. As a performance driven and dedicated professional, she believes her experience in promoting growth and increasing market share aligns well with the qualifications for the at large board director position.

Why I would make a good candidate: 

I am a goal-oriented leader with strong networking abilities that have contributed to my success of building trusting relationships and long lasting partnerships within the health care space.

Jodi Kennedy (Self-Nominated)
Physician Outreach Liaison
Nebraska Medicine
Omaha, Nebraska

Jodi Kennedy serves as a physician outreach liaison at Nebraska Medicine, where she has dedicated over four years of her career. Her efforts are focused on promoting Nebraska Medicine’s Solid Organ Transplantation and Digestive Diseases programs. Prior to this role, Jodi accumulated over 15 years of experience in IT recruitment.

Outside of her professional life, Jodi enjoys spending time with her family, diving into books, and staying active through CrossFit and Peloton. Her enthusiasm for these activities often sparks engaging and lively conversations.

Why I would make a good candidate:

I have been an active member of AAPL for over four years. During this time, I have participated in every AAPL annual conference and served on the planning committee for the 2024 conference. I also had the opportunity to present at the 2024 conference and am currently working with my team to present at the 2025 conference. Additionally, I coordinated my employer's hosting of a regional meeting. As an active participant in the Iowa AAPL meet-ups, my collaboration with AAPL team members and staff has highlighted my dedication to the organization and motivated me to pursue the At-Large Director position.
