EpicCare Link: Provider Connectivity through Physician Relations

Spectrum Health Physician Relations department deployed EpicCare Link, a web-based, read-onlyversion of Hyperspace for independent community providers, rendering access to integral patient information and giving the ability to place lab, radiology, and referral orders directly to Spectrum Health. This implementation represented the largest activation of EpicCare Link by an Epic client to-date and served as a catalyst to expand connectivity to reach to community/independent providers.

Reducing Referral Leakage with Analytics

Reducing referral leakage presents opportunities for growth and improved patient care, but can be a difficult problem to tackle due to the complexities around data and the sensitivities around provider referral preferences. Using data from internal systems as well as third-party claims, Intermountain and partner SymphonyRM have developed a process for addressing leakage that targets effort where it is most needed and uses performance data to measure accomplishment.
