Tell us about yourself and why did you choose this type of work?
I entered the health care profession because I am passionate about caring for others.   I started my career as a nurse working in academic medicine; specializing in pediatrics, first at Boston Children’s Hospital then later at Yale New Haven Hospital.  I was intrigued by the ways in which many of my patients were benefiting from new medicines. This experience prompted me to explore roles that would allow me to leverage my nursing experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

I joined Merck as an account manager in the early 90’s. During my 25 year career in the pharmaceutical industry, I held various customer-facing roles working closely with health care providers to introduce lifesaving medications and disease preventing vaccines.

What motivated you to seek this career?
My current role as a Physician Liaison found me.  When the recruiter described the position to me, I thought, THIS is exactly the opportunity I’ve been looking...

Tell us about yourself and why did you choose this type of work?
I was born in Upstate New York and raised just outside of Baltimore, Maryland.  I reside currently in St. Louis, Missouri. My husband and I have three children who are grown and live all over the country and one sweet but lazy dog.

I think the work of physician relations chose me.  I stumbled first into this type of position on the managed care side because one of my husband's friends was moving back to Peoria, so his wife was vacating her position as a Professional Services Coordinator (i.e., a field rep working with physician offices) at Blue Cross/Blue Shield.  I have been doing it for 20+ years now.

What motivated you to seek this career?
Being fresh out of college, I thought I had to have a position specifically in my major, economics.  A year later, I was very unhappy with what I was doing because I dealt with numbers all the time and had very little interaction with people.   I desperately wanted a position focused on people and helping them do their jobs better.

Tell us about yourself and why did you choose this type of work?
I always knew I wanted a career in healthcare.  My childhood best friend’s aunt was CAO of a large children’s hospital in Atlanta and I found myself intrigued with her career. Although starting my education as pre-med, it didn’t take long to know I was interested in more of the administrative and business side of healthcare.

What motivated you to seek this career?
I truly enjoy bridging our institution with external providers and feel it is incredibly valuable to the sustainability of our mission and vision.

Tell us about yourself and why did you choose this type of work?
I was born in San Francisco California then moved to Texas to earn my MBA years ago. My wife Elsa and I have two daughters and we just got a Pomeranian. I am passionate about helping others. This role allows me to leverage my strengths.

What motivated you to seek this career?
My wife was seriously ill and I experienced first-hand the power of amazing medical care. After working for many years in high tech with IBM, I was looking to find a something that had deeper impact on people’s lives vs. just the bottom line.

Tell us about yourself?
I am a daughter, a sister, a wife, a cancer survivor, a dog lover and am most passionate about helping others.

What motivated you to seek this career?
I have been in the healthcare field for over 12 years.  I started working at a local adult hospital while attending college and found my niche working to help physicians.  Once I graduated, I looked for opportunity in the healthcare field and found myself working for a big gastro group doing some physician sales and marketing.  From there, I found an opportunity to move up working to grow business for a radiology group in town.  Then I came to Le Bonheur.  As soon as I started working here, I knew this was the place for me.  There is more heart and dedication here that I ever knew was possible.

Tell us about yourself and why did you choose this type of work?
I wanted to make a difference in a bigger picture sort of way. I have taken care of individual patients for years, but helping providers find the right person to help provide care is very rewarding!

What motivated you to seek this career?
I love the region I live in and knew there was a void in connecting the dots for providers.
